The song was written by Kal Mann and Bernie Lowe and published in 1957.  More than likely the duo wrote the song for the movie.

The song became a huge hit for Elvis and stayed #1 on the charts for seven weeks.

Other performers to record the song include Pat Boone, Tanya Tucker, and ZZ Top.

The creators of the snack Teddy Grahams used a modified version of the song for their commercials.

In the 1980s, the family comedy Full House featured the three main adult characters singing the song to baby Michelle Tanner as a lullaby.
