The Arizona Waltz

The name Arizona was first used by Spanish explorers when they referred to “the little spring”. The term was used by a mining company which brought it to the attention of the public. From there it came to represent the entire territory that was located in the southwest between Texas and California.

The Arizona Waltz is a standard fiddle tune, written as a Waltz.

The song is believed to have been written by Rex Allen when he was only 14 years old. He was born in 1920, so that means the song was written around 1934.

The Arizona Waltz is copyrighted to Rex Allen.

In the 1950 film The Arizona Cowboy, Allen performed the song.

Rex Allen died in 1999.
