The Music is Still Alive with Elisabeth von Trapp

Recently I had the privilege of meeting a von Trapp and hearing her perform.

Elisabeth von Trapp is the daughter of Werner von Trapp, of the Trapp Family SingersSound of Music fans may best recognize Werner in the

character of Kirk.

Elisabeth is one of Werner and his wife, Erika’s, six children.  She was born and is based in Vermont.

Elisabeth has won acclaim in her own right as a musician.  She performs playing the guitar and singing.

She has traveled the world sharing the stories of her family and singing the songs of her family, however there is much more to a performance by Elisabeth von Trapp.  She provides numerous styles from folk music, classical, hymns, to pop, contemporary and Broadway hits.  Her voice is lyrical and beautiful, which is beautifully exhibited in her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

As Elisabeth travels, with her husband, Ed, she proves that the Music is Still Alive.  She has embraced her Sound of Music heritage and shares real family stories and lessons from the film.

Listening to her, I was touched by her tender heart and beautiful spirit.  You won’t regret the hour you spend listening to Elisabeth share through her stories and song.

Next week I will introduce you to Elisabeth’s singing cousins.
